About Fimoria
A straightforward account of who we are, where we started, and how we approach our work.
How Fimoria Came to Be
Fimoria was established by technicians with field backgrounds in commercial kitchen equipment service. The company was formed in response to a clear need: kitchen operators in Ontario and across Canada were finding it difficult to access consistent, technically sound service for their equipment — particularly outside of large metropolitan centres.
Starting with a small team in Owen Sound, Ontario, we built the business around a straightforward principle: do the diagnostic work thoroughly, communicate clearly with the client, and only proceed with repairs that are genuinely necessary. That approach hasn't changed.
Over the years, we've broadened the range of equipment and service categories we cover. We now work with restaurants, cafés, catering companies, institutional food facilities, and property managers who oversee commercial kitchen spaces. The scale of the work varies considerably — from a single café dishwasher to a multi-location property maintenance program — but the service standard we apply to each job is the same.
Our Approach to Service
These are the practical principles that guide how we conduct ourselves on every job.
Diagnostic First
We don't begin repair work until the root cause has been identified. A proper diagnostic assessment is not an optional step — it determines whether the right work gets done and prevents unnecessary costs.
Clear Communication
Before any work proceeds, we explain what was found and what the options are. Clients make the final decision. We do not proceed with work that hasn't been approved or explained.
Written Documentation
Every service visit generates a written record. This includes what was found, what was done, and any technician observations. Good documentation serves the client, not just our records.
Safety Standards
Our technicians follow applicable Canadian codes and standards for gas appliance service, electrical safety, and refrigerant handling. Safety is not a selling point — it's a requirement we treat seriously.
Honest Recommendations
If a piece of equipment is likely to require repeated repairs in the near term, we'll say so. We aim to give you the information you need to make sound decisions about your equipment, not to maximize service calls.
Reliable Scheduling
We understand that kitchen downtime has real operational implications. We commit to scheduled appointment times and communicate clearly if circumstances require a change.

Fimoria's growth has been deliberate rather than rapid. We've expanded our team and service categories as we've developed the technical competence to support them properly.
